Ridgewood Barbecue in Bluff City

The food is good. Went out of our way one day this summer, only to be disappointed that they were only doing take out, no notice on their website, no call ahead, you just had to order your food and wait..... The staff were unfriended, and seen angry to be working. Better customer care/service would be appreciated.

Historic. Designated as Tennessee's Best Barbecue in 2014. Named by Southern Living as one of the top 50 barbecue restaurants in the South.The meal is worth the wait. You will wait so plan ahead or come early.The best sauce in the Southeast, in my opinion.A hidden family treasure tucked in a hollow. It takes me back to a better time when I have a seat inside. Those destinations are rare these days.

My family loves the food here. My brother mentions Ridgewood every time the family takes a vote on where to go eat. The food is good as take-out, but it is even more delicious eaten on site. The tasty food, great service and friendly atmosphere make the wait in line worth your extra time. To describe this place with words just doesn’t do it justice. Try it, even if you don’t generally like barbecue, I believe you will be impressed!

I've had BBQ in every BBQ region in the country: Eastern and Western NC BBQ, Memphis BBQ, Kansas City BBQ and Texas Brisket. Ridgewood rates up at the top. Thinly sliced (not pulled) pork pulled HIGH on a bun with slaw and some of the best French Fries and BBQ beans I've EVER had.Little hole in the wall with seating capacity of less than 75 on a two lane highway. But the food is OUTSTANDING!!
